Tastiest spot for late night take out! I stopped by after midnight, and my partner and I ordered the tender sando combo with fries. Walking up, it was very loud with lots of people seated inside and out. The line was shoulder-to-shoulder, but the food speaks for itself! Surprisingly, our food came out quick despite how crowded it was. I ordered my chicken sando with mild spice and my partner ordered his with medium. Our sandos were delicious, and the sauce that they include on the side is incredible! Usually, I don't like condiments but this sauce is an exception. Given how hectic the walk-up experience was, I personally would prefer to DoorDash next time, but either way, I'm glad we were able to enjoy our late night fix!

Hot Boys is my go-to spot for chicken sandwiches and fries. The chicken is perfectly crispy and flavorful. Their sauce is the perfect kick to every bite. The fries are top tier as well; it has a good crisp too and the seasoning is delicious. I haven't eaten at the actual restaurant yet, but my friends say the atmosphere is lively and they play good music. Their takeout service is always fast, which I really appreciate. Hot Boys never disappoints, highly recommend this spot if you're visiting Sacramento!

Although the location was a bit scary at night, this place was truly so yummy. There was a bit of a line but service was quick and efficient! I ordered the Mild Chicken Tender Sandwich and the Medium (Plus) Tender Combo. The Mild Chicken Tender Sandwich was pretty good. The tenders stayed juicy and crispy in the sandwich. The buns were soft and flavorful, but also held up the sandwich really well. There was also a right amount of pickles and slaw. The Medium (Plus) Tender Combo was so flavorful and that spice level does not lie. It definitely had a kick to it. The combination of slightly sweet and truly spicy on the crunchy exterior was amazing and the chicken was perfectly juicy and tender on the inside. The fries and toast were not anything special, but really delicious alongside their sauce and a great addition to the really flavorful chicken.

Let me tell you what. I miss the south. I go. However, the food here will bring back all of the nostalgic memories. The team works super quick but does not alter the quality. Extremely friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant is amazing. Highly recommend. I cannot wait to return.

I've eaten at a lot of good chicken places--enough to know that Hotboys is one of them. This was a place with great food for a good price and a super sick environment. The sandwich was very good. The chicken on it was big and tasty, and it was super tender. It was the easiest sandwich I ever ate--no mess, no tough chewing, just tender chicken. The fries were also good, and despite appearances, it was actually quite filling. The environment was super cool. There were paintings and graffiti all over the place, from the outside to the inside. There were retro video games that you could play set off to the side, and the whole place gave a bit of a retro vibe. It was a super fun atmosphere and it was complemented by the friendly workers. Hotboys had great food, great service, and a great environment--it doesn't get much better than that. 5 stars.

I always try to come here when visiting Sacramento for a night out. Even if I don't want a chicken sandwich, I get something a little less heavy in the chicken étouffée. Their chicken is well cooked and their fries (while frozen) don't taste like it. Definitely a great late night snack and always hits the spot before or after a night out in that area. It's within walking distance too of a lot of bars/clubs and stays open until 3 AM! The service seems really personable even though they're always so busy because of their location. The restaurant is pretty small but I love how I can play Galaga for free! I wish I had a lot more pictures but I always eat it all before I can take some because it's so good.

My family and I drove from Stockton to try this place out, and it was well worth the trip! The service was top-notch, and the staff was incredibly patient with us as it was our first time ordering. They even offered us a sample of their mac & cheese, which was delicious. A special shoutout to the kind server who gave my daughter a water cup, only for her to sneakily grab a soda instead. I apologized, and he was very understanding. We'll definitely be coming back again! Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for great food and excellent service.

Got to to try their mac n cheese!!!!! Location: The restaurant itself is pretty small. Very limited seating and only one bathroom stall. I do like the vibe of the restaurant. I think the art on the walls is really cool. They do not have a parking lot so you will need to find street parking. Food: I thought their chicken sandwich was really good. Packed with flavor and the chicken was not dry at all. The coleslaw and pickles were a perfect touch to the sandwich. They have crinkle cut fries with seasoning that is also good. However, I think the best side dish they have is their mac n cheese. Their mac n cheese still has me thinking about it. Service: The food came out really fast the at cashier was super friendly. Overall, I would definitely recommend people to try this place if they have not.

Woooaahh! All I can say best chicken sando I had in a long time. Ordered mild spice and it was great bun to meat ratio was definitely out of proportion haha Be sure to ask for extra sauce very tangy! Only con was the breading too thick.
